Cuddles - Childcare Professionals

Parent FAQs...

Why should I choose Cuddles to register my position?

Cuddles is here to meet your Childcare needs.  We deliver a very personal yet professional service. A Cuddles Consultant can come to your home to discuss your needs or do it over the phone depending on which is more convenient for you. We care about children and at Cuddles we promote only the best Childcare professional available.

I am not sure if I really need a Nanny?

Choosing the right Childcare solution for your family can feel very confusing, let alone time consuming. At Cuddles we would like to spend time with you to chat over options that may work for your family and your own personal situation.

How long does it take to get find a Nanny?

That depends.  We have amazing Nannies registering with Cuddles daily. We are constantly recruiting Nannies and other Childcare professionals to join the Cuddles team.

How do Cuddles check their Nannies?

All Cuddles Nannies and Childcare professionals must have a minimum of 2 years, full-time experience and be able to provide 2-3 recent references that can be confirmed by a Cuddles Consultant.

For Nannies to register with Cuddles they also must provide a valid CRB check and also valid First Aid Certificate (or promise to do so).

Our Childcare professionals will have a telephone interview before being invited for a face to face meeting. No Nanny will be registered until all references and information has been gathered and verified.

What happens if I don't like the Nanny?

Hopefully following the interview and contract signing process, you will have gained a good idea of what it will be like to work with your nanny. However, if during your 8 weeks probation period you or your employee feel that you are unable to continue with your position then both parties will be required to give 1 weeks notice. After 8 weeks of employment this notice period will increase to a length that will be stipulated in the contract.

Should we have a contract?

Absolutely...It is very important to have a contract agreed prior to the position starting. This means that both employer and Childcare professional fully understand their roles and expectations of each other. Cuddles will provide a contract template which can be manipulated by yourselves to suit your individual position.

How do we pay the Nanny?

You pay the Nanny/Childcare professional directly. The way you pay will be agreed prior to the start date of the position (i.e cash/cheque or bank transfer).

Am I responsible for paying the Nannies Tax & National Insurance Contributions?

If you have employed a Nanny or Au pair then yes, you are responsible for paying this on their behalf.  There are companies that can take all that hassle and stress out of that for you.  You may find this link helpful: www.nannytax.co.uk
